시에 따르면 이번 판매는 설 명절을 맞아 고물가·고금리 등으로 어려운 소상공인의 매출 증대를 돕고, 시민들의 가계부담 완화해 침체된 지역경제를 살리기 위해 300억 원을 발행해 10% 특별할인판매로 진행된다.

이번 행사에는 카드·모바일형(이하 포항사랑카드) 200억 원, 지류형 100억 원 등 총 300억 원을 판매하며 예산 소진 시 자동 종료된다.

상품권 개인 할인 구매 한도는 포항사랑카드와 지류형을 통합해 월 40만 원까지며, 지류형 상품권은 최대 20만 원까지만 구매할 수 있다. 포항사랑카드의 보유 한도는 70만 원이며 충전하기 전에 카드 잔액을 모바일 앱(IM#)에서 미리 확인하면 편리하게 충전할 수 있다.
