시에 따르면 올해 총 3,252억 원을 발행하는 포항사랑상품권은 가맹점에서 사용할 수 있으며, 개인 월 50만 원(연 600만 원)까지 매월 첫 영업일에 모바일 앱 IM#(오전 12시 10분부터), 대구은행 영업점 14개소(영업시간), 대구은행 ATM기 49개소, DGB 셀프 창구 1개소(북구 새천년대로1249번길 26)에서 충전할 수 있다.

부정 유통 행위로 적발될 경우, 관련 법령에 따라 현장 계도, 가맹점 등록 취소 등의 행정처분과 최대 2,000만 원 이하의 과태료가 부과될 수 있으며, 심각한 부정 유통이 의심되는 경우 경찰서 수사 의뢰를 진행할 방침이다.
