경상북도는 교통안전시설에 대한 최종 점검과 보완을 위해 당초 이달 29일로 예정됐던 개통식과 30일로 계획된 도로 개통 일정을 조정한다고 밝혔다.

이번 일정 변경은 제3차 국도·국지도 5개년 계획에 따라 추진 중인 해당 도로의 완성도를 높이고, 개통 초기 발생할 수 있는 교통사고 위험을 사전에 차단하기 위한 조치다.

변경된 일정에 따르면 해오름대교를 포함한 효자~상원 간 도로 개통식은 오는 31일 오후 1시에 개최된다. 이는 당초 29일 오후 4시 예정이었던 개통식을 이틀 연기한 것이다.

차량 통행이 가능한 도로 개통 시점은 내달 2일 오후 2시로 확정됐다. 기존 계획이었던 이달 30일보다 사흘 늦춰진 일정이다.

개통 연기 기간 동안에는 유관 기관과 협력해 교통안전시설 전반에 대한 집중 점검이 이뤄질 예정이다. 주요 점검 사항은 도로 사용 개시(임시) 절차 마무리 여부, 교통 신호 체계 연동 상태, 교통 단속 장비의 정상 작동 여부 등이다.
