포항시는 6일 출근 시간대 대잠사거리와 오거리 일원에서 유관기관과 합동으로 에너지 절약 캠페인을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 캠페인에는 경상북도를 비롯해 한국전력공사 포항·북포항지사, 한국전기안전공사 경북동부지사, 한국전기공사협회 포항시협의회 등 에너지 관련 기관 관계자 50여 명이 참여했다.

참가자들은 현수막과 피켓을 활용해 출근길 시민들에게 중동 정세에 따른 에너지 위기의 심각성을 알리고 ▲승용차 5부제 참여 ▲대중교통 이용 ▲불필요한 조명 소등 등 생활 속 실천 가능한 절약 수칙을 집중 홍보했다.

포항시 관계자는 “중동 사태 장기화로 에너지 가격 변동성이 커지고 있는 상황”이라며 “다소 불편하더라도 경제와 환경을 함께 살릴 수 있는 에너지 절약 실천에 시민들의 적극적인 참여가 필요하다”고 강조했다.

한편 포항시는 오는 8일부터 정부 지침에 따라 공공기관 임직원 차량에 대해 2부제(홀짝제)를 시행하고, 청사 방문 민원인 차량에는 5부제(끝번호 요일제)를 적용하는 등 에너지 절감 조치를 강화할 방침이다.

Pohang City announced that it conducted a joint energy saving campaign with related agencies in the areas of Daejam Intersection and Ogeori during the morning rush hour on the 6th.

An official from Pohang City emphasized, “With energy price volatility increasing due to the prolonged crisis in the Middle East, active participation from citizens is necessary to practice energy conservation, even if it causes some inconvenience, in order to save both the economy and the environment.”

Meanwhile, Pohang City plans to strengthen energy saving measures starting on the 8th, in accordance with government guidelines, by implementing an odd-even system for vehicles of public institution employees and applying a five-day system (based on the last digit of the license plate number) to vehicles of citizens visiting the city hall.
