【브레이크뉴스 구미】이성현 기자=새마을재단(대표이사 이승종)은 서비스러닝형 글로벌청년새마을지도자를 올해 8월부터 내년 2월까지 6개월간 인도네시아, 베트남 새마을사업 현장에 각 2명씩 총 4명을 파견했다고 28일 밝혔다.

이번 글로벌청년새마을지도자 프로그램은 지역 대학들 협력해 서비스 러닝(Service Learning) 프로그램으로 진행된다.

서비스러닝(Service-Learning)은 ‘봉사활동(Service)’과 ‘학습(Learning)’이 결합된 형태의 교수학습법으로, 수업을 통해 배운 전문지식을 봉사활동으로 연결해 현장에 적용하고, 학점을 부여받는 프로그램이다.

선발된 4명의 글로벌청년새마을지도자들은 8월 인도네시아, 베트남으로 6개월간 파견된다. 이들은 새마을 ODA 현장에서 새마을 조직 육성과 의식교육, 생활환경개선, 소득증대, 지역 거버넌스 구축 등 다양한 새마을운동 세계화사업을 경험할 예정이다.

이번에 선발된 김나현 글로벌청년새마을지도자(영남대 새마을국제개발학과)는 “이번 글로벌청년새마을지도자 사업을 통해 장기간의 현장 인턴의 기회를 가지게 되어 기대가 크다”며 “이론으로 배웠던 국제개발 사업과 새마을세계화사업을 가까이에서 지켜보고 열정을 가지고 활동하여 나눔, 봉사, 창조 정신을 널리 나누고 돌아오고 싶습니다”라고 말했다.

새마을재단은 2018년부터 개발도상국 농촌발전을 위해 새마을운동의 성공 노하우를 공유하고, 미래의 ODA 전문가를 양성하기 위해 글로벌청년새마을지도자를 선발하여 파견해 왔다. 지금까지 아시아·아프리카 7개국에 51명의 글로벌청년새마을지도자를 파견해 지역거버넌스 구축, 소득증대, 주민교육, 환경개선 등 새마을 ODA 사업 현장 경험을 체험할 기회를 제공해 왔다.

Saemaul Foundation (CEO Seungjong Lee) announced on the 28th that it has dispatched a total of 4 service-learning-type global youth Saemaul leaders, 2 each to Saemaul project sites in Indonesia and Vietnam, for 6 months from August of this year to February of next year.

The 4 selected global youth Saemaul leaders will be dispatched to Indonesia and Vietnam in August for 6 months. They will experience various Saemaul Movement globalization projects such as Saemaul organization development, awareness education, improvement of living environment, income increase, and establishment of local governance at Saemaul ODA sites.

Kim Na-hyun, a Global Youth Saemaul Leader (Department of Saemaul International Development, Yeungnam University), who was selected this time, said, “I have high expectations for the opportunity to have a long-term field internship through this Global Youth Saemaul Leader Project,” and “I want to closely observe the international development projects and Saemaul Globalization Projects that I learned about in theory, participate passionately, and return after sharing the spirit of sharing, service, and creativity.”

Since 2018, the Saemaul Foundation has been selecting and dispatching Global Youth Saemaul Leaders to share the know-how of the Saemaul Movement’s success for rural development in developing countries and to foster future ODA experts. So far, 51 global young Saemaul leaders have been dispatched to 7 countries in Asia and Africa, providing opportunities to experience Saemaul ODA projects on the ground, such as establishing local governance, increasing income, resident education, and improving the environment.
