특히 대학원생, 외국인 유학생, 학부생 등 다양한 학생들이 고르게 수상하며, 컴퓨터정보공학부의 연구 저변이 넓어지고 있음을 보여주고 있다.

26일 학교측에 따르면 대학원 석사과정 정종욱 학생은 최근 일본 가와사키에서 열린 ‘2025 국제 머신러닝 및 인간-컴퓨터 상호작용 학술대회(MLHMI 2025)’에서 우수 논문상을 수상했다. 그는 발달 장애 아동의 관절 데이터를 활용한 3SLC(Three Self-Attention Layers with LSTM and CNN) 기법을 적용해 도전 행동을 분류하는 새로운 방법을 제안하며 높은 평가를 받았다.

또한, 오유수 대구대 교수는 같은 학술대회에서 ‘노코드(No-Code) AI 교구를 통한 교육·산업 혁신: 디지털 역량 강화의 새로운 패러다임’을 주제로 초청 강연을 하고, 두 번째 세션에서 좌장을 맡아 중요한 역할을 수행했다.

외국인 유학생도 우수한 연구 성과를 보여줬다. 몽골 출신 유학생인 나랑게렐 철멍(컴퓨터소프트웨어전공 4학년) 학생은 지난 2월 대만 타이베이에서 열린 ‘2025 국제 정보기술 및 응용 혁신 심포지엄(ISIITA 2025)’의 학부생 캡스톤디자인 경진대회에서 3등상을 수상했다. 그는 유튜브 동영상의 썸네일 이미지와 다양한 정보를 분석해 조회수를 예측하는 시스템을 개발해 실용성과 창의성을 인정받았다.

학부생 김효리(컴퓨터소프트웨어전공 4학년) 학생 역시 같은 대회(ISIITA 2025)에서 우수 논문상을 수상했다. 김효리 학생은 법률 조언이 필요한 사용자들을 위해 법률 용어를 쉽게 변환하고, 시퀀스투시퀀스(Seq2Seq) 모델을 적용한 대화형 법률 상담 챗봇 시스템을 개발해 주목을 받았다.

이들을 지도한 오유수 대구대 컴퓨터정보공학부 학부장은 “다양한 학생들이 국제 무대에서 성과를 내며 컴퓨터정보공학부의 연구 역량을 입증하고 있다”며, “앞으로도 학생들이 학문적 성취를 지속적으로 이루어갈 수 있도록 적극적으로 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

Daegu University Department of Computer Information Engineering, Proves Academic Ability with Excellent Results at International Conference

He received high praise for proposing a new method to classify challenging behaviors by applying the 3SLC (Three Self-Attention Layers with LSTM and CNN) technique using joint data of children with developmental disabilities.

In addition, Professor Oh Yu-su of Daegu University gave an invited lecture on the topic of ‘Education and Industry Innovation through No-Code AI Education: A New Paradigm for Strengthening Digital Capabilities’ at the same academic conference, and played an important role as the moderator of the second session.

Foreign students also showed excellent research results. Mongolian student Narangerel Cheolmeng (4th year, Computer Software Major) won 3rd place in the undergraduate capstone design competition at the ‘2025 International Symposium on Information Technology and Application Innovation (ISIITA 2025)’ held in Taipei, Taiwan in February. He developed a system that predicts the number of views by analyzing the thumbnail image and various information of YouTube videos, and was recognized for its practicality and creativity.

Undergraduate student Kim Hyo-ri (4th year, Computer Software Major) also won the Excellent Paper Award at the same competition (ISIITA 2025). Student Kim Hyo-ri has attracted attention for developing a conversational legal consultation chatbot system that easily converts legal terms for users who need legal advice and applies the Seq2Seq model.

Dean Oh Yu-soo of the Department of Computer and Information Engineering at Daegu University, who supervised them, said, “Various students are proving the research capabilities of the Department of Computer and Information Engineering by achieving results on the international stage,” and “We will continue to actively support students so that they can continue to achieve academic success.”
