【브레이크뉴스 경주】이성현 기자=한국수력원자력(주) 월성원자력본부(본부장 정원호)는 9월 17일 ‘2025년도 제3차 월성본부 원전소통위원회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

월성본부 원전소통위원회는 정원호 본부장을 포함한 내부위원 3명과 경주시의회 시의원, 주민대표, 지역 전문가 등 총 14명으로 구성돼 있으며, 지역주민과의 소통 및 협력 강화를 목적으로 운영되고 있다.

이번 회의에서는 △월성본부 EAB(제한구역 경계)에 설치되었던 이주대책위원회 불법 천막 철거 △동경주 지역 경로당 냉방비 지원 및 취약계층 냉방용품 전달 등 여름철 주민 건강관리 지원 △2026년도 한수원 지원사업 공모 △지역 대표 문화축제인 ‘제9회 통일기원 문무대왕 문화제’와 ‘제7회 양남 주상절리 축제’ 지원 등 총 4가지 안건을 공유하고 의견을 나눴다.

소통위원들은 무더운 여름철 월성본부의 지원 덕분에 지역 어르신과 기후약자들이 여름을 보다 편안하게 보낼 수 있었고, 월성본부가 지역 대표 축제에 함께하며 성공적인 행사를 만들어가는 점에도 공감했다. 또한 2026년도 한수원 지원사업 공모에 대한 논의가 활발히 진행되며, 지역발전에 실질적인 도움이 되는 사업 선정 방안을 함께 고민했다.

정원호 본부장은 “올해로 3회차를 맞이한 원전소통위원회에 참석해 지역 발전과 상생을 위해 힘써주시는 소통위원들의 노고에 감사드린다”며 “앞으로도 월성본부는 지역과 함께하며 원전 수용성 향상에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP) Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Headquarters (Director Won-ho Jeong) announced on September 17th that it held the "3rd Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Communication Committee Meeting for 2025."

The Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Communication Committee consists of 14 members, including Director Won-ho Jeong and three internal members, as well as members of the Gyeongju City Council, community representatives, and local experts. Its goal is to strengthen communication and cooperation with local residents.

The communication committee members shared their understanding that Wolseong Headquarters' support during the hot summer allowed local seniors and vulnerable people to enjoy a more comfortable summer, and that Wolseong Headquarters' participation in key local festivals helped to create successful events. Furthermore, active discussions were held regarding the 2026 KHNP support project competition, and they discussed ways to select projects that would provide practical support for local development.

Director Jeong Won-ho said, “I would like to express my gratitude to the communication committee members who have worked hard for the development and coexistence of the region by attending the Nuclear Power Plant Communication Committee, which is now in its third year,” and added, “The Wolseong headquarters will continue to do its best to improve the acceptance of nuclear power plants by working with the region.”
