한주기 무고장 안전운전(OCTF, One Cycle Trouble Free)은 원전 계획예방정비 완료 후 계통연결 시점부터 다음 계획예방정비를 위한 계통분리 때까지 발전 정지 없이 운전했음을 의미한다.

정비, 운전, 관리 능력 등 원전 운영 안정성과 기술 능력을 입증하는 대표적 지표이다.

18일 한국수력원자력(주) 월성원자력본부(본부장 김한성)에 따르면 월성4호기는 1999년 10월 1일 상업운전을 시작하여 2001년 1월부터 2002년 4월(429일) 첫 무고장 안전운전을 달성한 이후 이번 2021년 12월 17일부터 2023년 1월 18일까지의 398일을 포함해, 총 14회의 한주기 무고장 안전운전을 달성했다.

김한성 본부장은 “월성본부의 최우선 가치인 안전을 위해 제2발전소(소장 김재원) 모든 직원들이 헌신적으로 노력해 월성4호기가 국내 최초·최다 14주기 무고장 안전운전을 달성할 수 있었다.”며 “앞으로도 계속 무고장 안전운전 기록을 달성하며 세계 최고의 수준의 원전운영 능력을 보여주자.”고 말했다.

월성4호기가 1999년 10월 1일부터 2023년 1월 18일까지 생산한 누적전력량은 약 1,310억 kWh로, 대구광역시와 경상북도가 약 2년 7개월간 사용할 수 있는 양이다.

한편 월성4호기는 주요설비의 정비를 위해 1월 18일 오전 9시에 발전을 정지하고약 43일간의 공정으로제19차 계획예방정비에 착수했다.정기검사를 시행한 후 3월 1일경발전을 재개할 예정이다.

Meanwhile, Wolseong Unit 4 stopped power generation at 9:00 am on January 18 for maintenance of major facilities and started the 19th planned preventive maintenance with a process of about 43 days. After regular inspections, power generation is scheduled to resume around March 1st.
