【브레이크뉴스 청송】이성현 기자=산악스포츠의 메카 청송군이 오는 10일부터 11일까지 이틀간 청송 아이스클라이밍 월드컵경기장에서 ‘2026 UIAA 청송 아이스클라이밍 월드컵’을 개최한다.

이번 대회는 국제산악연맹(UIAA)과 대한산악연맹이 공동 주최하고, 청송군과 경상북도산악연맹이 공동 주관한다. 노스페이스, 아웃도어리서치, DYPNF 등이 공식 후원사로 참여하며, 전 세계 18개국에서 모인 120여 명의 정상급 아이스클라이밍 선수들이 출전해 치열한 경쟁을 펼칠 예정이다.

대회 기간 동안 경기 관람객을 위한 다양한 체험형 콘텐츠도 마련된다. ‘빙벽네컷 포토존’과 현장의 생동감을 전달하는 ‘빙벽 360도 카메라 체험 부스’를 비롯해, 청송의 전통 먹거리를 즐길 수 있는 먹거리 공간과 500년 전통을 자랑하는 청송 백자 전시 등 풍성한 볼거리가 준비돼 스포츠와 문화가 어우러진 축제의 장이 될 것으로 기대된다.

특히 대회 마지막 날인 11일에는 결승전을 앞둔 오후 2시경 가수 박현빈 씨의 초청 공연이 예정돼 있어, 경기의 긴장감과 어우러진 특별한 문화 공연으로 현장 분위기를 한층 끌어올릴 전망이다.

청송군 관계자는 “청송군은 2011년 아시아 최초로 아이스클라이밍 월드컵을 개최한 경험을 바탕으로, 이번 대회에서도 선수와 관람객 모두가 안심하고 몰입할 수 있는 안전하고 수준 높은 경기 환경 조성에 만전을 기하겠다”며 “아이스클라이밍의 동계올림픽 정식 종목 채택에 대한 기대가 높아지는 중요한 시기인 만큼, 이번 대회가 국제 무대에서 그 경쟁력과 매력을 널리 알리고 정식 종목 채택에 긍정적으로 기여할 수 있도록 철저히 준비하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Cheongsong County, a mecca for mountaineering, will host the '2026 UIAA Cheongsong Ice Climbing World Cup' at the Cheongsong Ice Climbing World Cup Stadium for two days, from the 10th to the 11th.
