최근 전세계적으로 환경에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있는 상황에서 UN의 지구환경문제(기후변화, 에너지, 환경오염, 물, 생물다양성 등)를 포함한 지속가능 개발목표로 2030년까지 SDGs(Sustainable Development Goals)를 설정하고 있으며, 우리 정부도 경제구조 저탄소화, 신유망 저탄소 산업생태계조성, 탄소중립 사회로의 공정전환을 3대 정책방향으로 하여 2050 탄소중립 비전선언과 그린뉴딜(한국형뉴딜) 등의 정책을 추진하고 있다.

이번 사회적기업가 육성사업 컨소시엄을 통해 경상북도경제진흥원은 사회적기업가 모집, 소셜벤처 창업 및 사업화, (예비)사회적기업 인증 지원, 경영컨설팅, 마케팅 및 판로 등을 지원하고, 경상북도환경연수원은 환경⋅산림분야 창업을 위한 기술⋅인력 등 인프라 지원은 물론 교육 및 멘토링 프로그램 운영, 창업 및 비즈니스공간 등을 지원할 예정이다.

본 사업을 통해 예비창업팀 또는 창업 2년 이내 기업을 대상으로 환경⋅산림형과 지역형 각 10팀 내외로 총 20개 팀을 선발 예정이며, 선발된 팀은 경북 구미시에 소재한 경상북도환경연수원 내 창업공간을 거점으로 입주 및 비즈니스 활동을 지원받게 된다.
