경상북도환경연수원(원장 심학보)은 지난 8일 구미 낙동강체육공원에 소재한 구미캠핑장에서 캠핑객 250명을 대상으로 올해 첫 ‘환경문화교실’을 개시했다.

같은날 경상북도환경연수원에 따르면 이날 환경문화교실은 건강한 캠핑생활을 위한 ‘천연 벌레기피제 만들기’를 비롯, 코로나19 극복을 위한 ‘면역강화 새싹 인삼심기’ 체험과 엄마, 아빠와 함께하는 ‘별자리 탐사 3개 테마형 체험’을 운영했다.

특히 5월 8일 어버이날을 맞아 ‘천연비누 카네이션 만들기’ 체험과 함께 부모님께 감사 전하기 시간을 편성해 참가한 가족들에게 큰 호응을 얻었다.

올해 환경문화교실은 구미캠핑장을 시작으로 도내 관광명소 10개소를 선정해 2,500명을 대상으로 찾아가는 환경교육을 제공할 예정으로 관광지의 특색에 맞춰 다양한 프로그램을 구성해 운영할 계획이다.

심학보 연수원장은 “언택트 관광을 위해 우리 경상북도의 자연을 찾아오는관광객과 도민에 알찬 프로그램으로 환경문화교실을 준비해 코로나19를 극복하는 데 도움이 되는 교육을 운영하여, 다시 찾고 싶은 경상북도를 만들도록 노력하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
