이번 카니발은 경상북도콘텐츠진흥원(원장 이종수, 이하 진흥원)이 운영하는 경북 음악창작소(이하 창작소)가 수도권에 편중된 공연 문화를 황리단길에 옮겨와 도내 대중음악 프로젝트 활성화를 유도하기 위해 계획했다.

경북 음악창작소와 황리단길 내 복합문화공간 ‘어서어서’, ‘배리삼릉공원’, ‘노워즈’, ‘흐흐흐’에서 진행되는 실내 라이브 공연과, 서울인디뮤직페스타(SIMF) 지역교류전과 연계하여 봉황대-금관총 사이 야외무대에서 진행되는 실외 라이브 공연, 그리고 경북웹툰캠퍼스에서 진행되는 체험 프로그램으로 구성했다.

모든 공연과 프로그램은 무료이며, 공연은 사전 신청 없이, 체험 프로그램은 사전 신청을 통해 참여 가능하다.

이종수 진흥원장은 “경북도민을 비롯하여 많은 분들이 경주에서 즐겁게 카니발을 만끽하길 바란다”며 “이를 통해 도내 대중음악 프로젝트 활성화와 웹툰 문화 확산이 이루어질 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
