김 회장은 12일 배포된 자료를 통해 “그룹의 지속 가능한 성장을 이어가고 역동적인 미래에 대응할 수 있는 새로운 리더십이 필요할 때”라고 강조한 것으로 알려졌고, 이후 회장후보추천위원회(이하 회추위)에 용퇴 의사를 밝혔다는 소식이 전해졌다.

DGB 그룹은 지난해 9월 25일 회추위가 경영승계 절차를 개시하면서서 차기 회장 선임을 위한 프로세스를 진행해 왔다. DGB는 외부전문가가 참여하는 다양한 프로그램을 통해 오는 2월 말 최종후보자를 추천할 계획이다.
