농어민수당은 경상북도에서 추진하는 사업으로, 농어업과 농어촌의 공익적 기능을 유지·증진하는 농어민의 노고를 인정하고, 농촌의 지속 가능한 발전을 도모하기 위해 마련됐다.

지급 대상은 경북도 내에 1년 이상 거주하고 농·어업경영체를 등록한 경영주이며, 기존에는 상·하반기로 나누어 지급하던 방식에서 올해부터는 연 1회, 상반기에 일괄 지급하는 방식으로 변경됐다. 지원 금액은 1인당 연 60만 원이며, 농어민수당 전용카드를 통해 지급된다.

영천시는 기존 카드 사용자에게는 지난 5월 26일 지급을 완료했으며, 신규 발급자 및 재발급 대상자에게는 이달 말까지 지급을 마무리할 방침이다.

최재열 영천시 농업기술센터 소장은 “이번 농어민수당 지급이 농가의 생활 안정과 지역 내 소비 촉진을 통한 경제 활성화로 이어지길 기대한다”며, “앞으로도 농업인의 삶의 질을 높이고 실질적인 소득 증대에 기여할 수 있는 다양한 지원책을 지속적으로 발굴해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

Yeongcheon City completed payment to existing card users on May 26, and plans to complete payment to new issuers and reissuers by the end of this month.
