이날 협약식에는 최기문 영천시장과 강상기 대구경북경제자유구역청장 직무대행, 왕밍 화더코리아(유) 대표이사 등 주요 관계자들이 참석해 성공적인 사업 추진을 위한 상호 협력 의지를 다졌다.

이번 협약에 따라 화더코리아(유)는 영천첨단부품소재산업지구 내에 1,000만 달러를 투자해 도어핸들과 엑츄레이터 등 자동차 부품 생산라인을 구축할 계획이다. 투자가 본격화되면 약 150명의 신규 고용 창출이 예상돼 지역 경제 활성화와 일자리 창출에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

화더코리아(유)는 중국 최대 자동차 도어핸들 생산기업인 화더홀딩스그룹의 자회사로, 2021년 7월 설립돼 현재 경기도 시흥시에 본사를 두고 있다. 자동차용 신품 부품 제조를 주력 사업으로 하며, 자동 도어핸들과 엑츄레이터 등을 주요 품목으로 생산하고 있고 현대·기아차를 주요 거래처로 두고 있다.

시 관계자는 “화더코리아(유)의 이번 투자는 영천시 산업 경쟁력을 한 단계 끌어올리는 전환점이 될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 유망 기업들이 영천시에 안정적으로 정착하고 성장을 이어갈 수 있도록 전폭적인 행정 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다.
