【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구의 청소년들이 지역 정책에 직접 참여하는 ‘청소년참여예산제 사업설명회’가 오는 14일 오후 2시, 대구시 동인청사 10층 대회의실에서 열린다.

대구행복진흥사회서비스원(이사장 배기철) 청소년활동진흥센터 주관으로 열리는 이번 설명회는 ‘청소년이 행복한 대구 만들기’를 주제로 진행되며, 관내 청소년 209명(28개 팀 포함)이 참여할 예정이다.

이번 행사는 청소년들이 정책과 예산을 이해하고, 실질적으로 정책을 제안할 수 있도록 돕기 위한 자리다. 사회참여, 인권·환경, 진로·창의활동, 문화·생활, 안전·복지 등 다양한 분야에 대한 교육과 함께 정책제안서 작성법, 아이디어 제안대회 운영 방식이 안내된다. 행사 종료 후에는 청소년들의 의견을 수렴하는 설문조사도 진행된다.

청소년참여예산제는 청소년이 지역사회에 필요한 정책을 직접 발굴하고 예산편성 과정에 참여할 수 있도록 한 제도로, 예산의 공정성과 실효성을 높이기 위한 참여형 제도다. 대구시는 2017년부터 이를 시행하고 있으며, 2019년부터는 대구행복진흥원이 위탁 운영하고 있다.

배기철 이사장은 “청소년참여예산제는 청소년의 생생한 목소리를 시정에 반영할 수 있는 중요한 제도”라며 “청소년이 제안한 아이디어가 실제 정책으로 실현될 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 이번 설명회에 참여한 청소년들은 예선 심사를 거쳐 오는 8월 30일 열리는 ‘청소년참여예산 아이디어 제안대회’에 참가하게 되며, 이 자리에서 총 10개의 정책을 발표해 대구시에 공식 제안할 예정이다.
