【브레이크뉴스 고령】이성현 기자=고령군 대가야박물관(군수 이남철)이 가야고분군 세계유산 등재 2주년을 기념해 국외 소재 가야 유물 사진전 '찬란한 가야 문명의 기록'을  18일부터 개최한다.

이번 전시는 (사)한국국외문화재연구원(원장 손인락) 주관으로 경북대학교 박물관(관장 박천수)과 공동 기획됐으며, 일제강점기와 전쟁 등 역사적 격변기를 거치며 일본과 미국을 비롯한 해외에 흩어진 가야 문화재의 현황을 알리고 그 가치를 재조명하기 위해 마련됐다.

전시는 지산동 고분군 등 가야고분군 전경을 소개하는 자료를 비롯해, 일본 도쿄국립박물관이 소장한 대가야 금동허리띠 장식, 미국 보스턴미술관에 있는 봉황무늬 고리자루 큰칼 등 주요 가야 유물 100여 점을 생생한 사진 자료로 선보인다.

특히 한국국외문화재연구원이 일본에서 환수해 대가야박물관에 기탁한 ‘바리 모양 그릇받침’을 비롯해 금귀걸이·금관 등 대가야 대표 유물은 실물로 전시돼 관람객들에게 풍성한 볼거리를 제공한다.

이남철 고령군수는 “이번 전시가 해외에 반출된 문화유산의 가치를 되새기고, 환수 활동에 대한 국민적 관심을 높이는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “아울러 가야 문화의 우수성을 널리 알리고 보존·전승에 대한 사회적 공감대 형성으로 이어지기를 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

 Goryeong Daegaya Museum Holds Overseas Artifact Photo Exhibition to Celebrate the Second Anniversary of the Gaya Tombs' World Heritage Site Designation

The Goryeong County Daegaya Museum (Governor Lee Nam-cheol) will host a photo exhibition of overseas Gaya artifacts, "Records of the Brilliant Gaya Civilization," commemorating the second anniversary of the Gaya Tombs' World Heritage designation, starting on the 18th.

This exhibition, co-organized by the Korea Overseas Cultural Heritage Research Institute (Director Son In-rak) and the Kyungpook National University Museum (Director Park Cheon-su), aims to highlight the current status of Gaya cultural assets scattered overseas, including to Japan and the United States, during turbulent times such as the Japanese colonial period and the Korean War, and to shed new light on their value.

The exhibition features a panoramic view of the Gaya tomb complex, including the Jisan-dong Tombs, as well as over 100 key Gaya artifacts, including a Daegaya gilt-bronze belt ornament from the Tokyo National Museum in Japan and a large sword with a phoenix-designed ring handle from the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.

In particular, representative Daegaya artifacts, including the "Bari-shaped Bowl Stand," recovered from Japan by the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Research Institute and donated to the Daegaya Museum, as well as gold earrings and a gold crown, will be on display, offering visitors a rich visual feast.

Goryeong County Mayor Lee Nam-cheol stated, "I hope this exhibition will serve as an opportunity to reflect on the value of cultural heritage taken overseas and heighten public interest in repatriation efforts. Furthermore, I hope it will broadly promote the excellence of Gaya culture and foster a social consensus on its preservation and transmission."
