이번 협약은 중앙·광역·기초 지자체 청년센터 간 전달체계를 체계적으로 정비하고, 지역 내 청년센터와 청년지원시설 간 협력망을 강화하기 위해 추진됐다. 양 기관은 특히 ▲지역 특화 청년 프로그램 운영 및 참여자 모집 ▲청년창업 활성화를 위한 공동 홍보 및 사업 연계 ▲공모사업 대응을 통한 지속가능성 확보 등 다섯 가지 분야에서 협력을 집중할 예정이다.

경상북도청년센터는 지난해 12월 개소해 ‘모든 청년이 편안하게 꿈꾸고 당당하게 도전하는 경북’을 목표로 다양한 역량 강화 프로그램과 청년 커뮤니티 기반을 확대해왔다. 지역 청년의 아이디어 실험과 도전 촉진, 협업 생태계 조성 등 참여 기회를 꾸준히 늘려온 것이 특징이다.

경북청년창업지원센터는 2011년 개소 이후 경북테크노파크에서 위탁 운영되고 있으며, 2024년 기준 도내 청년 CEO 30명을 배출했다. 이들 기업은 총 예상 매출 125억 원과 신규 고용 63명을 창출하며 지역 창업 생태계 활성화에 기여해왔다.

최근 지역 언론에서는 경북 도내 12개 시·군에서만 청년센터가 운영 중이라는 점과, 청년센터의 상시 조직화 및 권역 단위 협력 필요성을 지적한 바 있다. 이러한 상황에서 두 기관은 청년지원 체계를 보다 유기적으로 연결하고, 청년정책과 창업지원의 접점을 확대해야 한다는 공감대를 형성했다.

이번 협약은 분절적으로 운영되던 청년정책 전달체계를 보완하고, 지역 청년에게 실질적 기회를 제공하기 위한 기반을 마련했다는 점에서 큰 의미가 있다. 양 기관은 향후 지역 청년 대상 프로그램 공동 기획, 창업·참여 프로그램 연계 홍보 강화, 사업 정보 공유 등을 우선 추진할 계획이다.

중장기적으로는 청년정책과 창업지원이 통합적으로 작동하는 생태계를 구축해 지역 청년 참여 확대와 창업기업의 지속 가능한 성장을 도모할 방침이다. 또한 공모사업 대응 체계를 공동으로 마련하고 사업 성공 사례를 공유해 정책 실효성을 높일 계획이다.

하인성 경북테크노파크 원장은 “지역 청년이 창업부터 커뮤니티 활동까지 한 흐름 안에서 성장할 수 있도록 지원체계를 강화하는 것이 중요하다”며, “이번 협약을 통해 청년들이 보다 실질적인 기회를 얻고, 지역 창업생태계가 더욱 탄탄해지길 기대한다”고 말했다.

The Gyeongbuk Technopark Foundation (Director Ha In-seong) and the Gyeongsangbuk-do Youth Center announced on the 26th that they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Gyeongsangbuk-do Youth Center to strengthen the youth policy delivery system and revitalize local youth.

It is notable for its consistent expansion of opportunities for participation, including encouraging local youth to experiment with ideas and take on new challenges, and fostering a collaborative ecosystem.

Since its opening in 2011, the Gyeongbuk Youth Entrepreneurship Support Center has been operated by Gyeongbuk Technopark. As of 2024, it has produced 30 young CEOs in the province. These companies have generated a total projected revenue of 12.5 billion won and created 63 new jobs, contributing to the revitalization of the local startup ecosystem.

Recently, local media outlets have highlighted the fact that only 12 cities and counties in Gyeongbuk Province currently operate youth centers, highlighting the need for permanent youth center organization and regional cooperation. Against this backdrop, the two organizations have agreed to more organically connect youth support systems and expand the interface between youth policy and entrepreneurship support.

This agreement is significant in that it complements the fragmented youth policy delivery system and establishes a foundation for providing real opportunities for local youth. Going forward, the two organizations plan to prioritize joint planning of programs for local youth, strengthening the promotion of entrepreneurship and participation programs, and sharing business information.
