【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=(사)대경ICT산업협회(협회장 최종태)는 지난 3일, 지난해 ‘이웃사랑 캠페인’을 통해 조성한 성금 2천220만 원을 수성구청(청장 김대권)과 (사)자원봉사능력개발원(이사장 박종률)에 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이번 성금은 협회 회원사들이 자발적으로 뜻을 모아 마련한 것으로, 지역사회에서 실질적인 도움이 필요한 곳에 지원이 이뤄질 수 있도록 지자체 및 지역 기관과 연계해 기탁됐다. 전달된 성금은 겨울철 취약계층 지원과 지역사회 돌봄·나눔 사업 등 현장 수요를 반영한 사업에 활용될 예정이다.

대경ICT산업협회는 이번 나눔을 단순한 기부금 전달을 넘어, 기업과 지역이 함께 성장하는 지속 가능한 상생 모델 구축의 일환으로 보고 있다. ICT 산업의 성장이 지역 구성원과의 연결 속에서 이뤄져야 한다는 인식 아래, 협회는 회원사와 함께 지역에 필요한 지원을 발굴하고 관련 기관과의 협력을 통해 사회공헌 활동을 확대해 나갈 방침이다.

최종태 협회장은 “협회 차원의 봉사단을 조직해 도움이 필요한 이웃들에게 따뜻한 온기가 전해질 수 있도록 지속 가능한 나눔을 이어가겠다”며 “지역 AI·ICT 산업 발전과 지역사회 연대 강화를 통해 지역 경제단체로서의 역할을 더욱 높여 나가겠다”고 말했다.

한편, (사)대경ICT산업협회는 2014년부터 매년 꾸준한 기부와 봉사 활동을 이어오고 있다. ‘어르신 쉼터 희망의 집’ 무료봉사를 시작으로, 코로나19 시기에는 기부금과 방호복을 전달했으며, 이후 대구연탄은행, 대구행복진흥원, 자원봉사능력개발원(대구쪽방상담소), 경상북도 산불 성금 등으로 기부 대상을 확대해 왔다.

(사)대경ICT산업협회는 350여 개 지역 IT·CT 기업으로 구성된 지역 최대 규모의 관련 경제단체로, ‘수성알파시티’를 중심으로 AX 시대를 선도하며 대경권 미래산업의 핵심인 ICT 산업 발전을 위해 2011년 설립됐다.

Daegyeong ICT Industry Association Donates 22.2 Million KRW to Love Your Neighbor Campaign

The Daegyeong ICT Industry Association (Chairman Choi Jong-tae) announced on the 3rd that it had donated 22.2 million KRW, raised through last year's "Love Your Neighbor Campaign," to the Suseong District Office (Chairman Kim Dae-kwon) and the Volunteer Capacity Development Institute (Chairman Park Jong-ryul).

Recognizing that the growth of the ICT industry must be achieved through connections with local communities, the association plans to work with its member companies to identify needed support in the region and expand its social contribution activities through collaboration with relevant organizations.

Chairman Choi Jong-tae stated, "We will continue to share sustainably by organizing an association-level volunteer group to extend warmth to our neighbors in need." He added, "We will further enhance our role as a local economic organization by fostering the development of the local AI and ICT industry and strengthening community solidarity."

Meanwhile, the Daegyeong ICT Industry Association has been consistently donating and volunteering since 2014. Beginning with free volunteering at the "House of Hope," a senior citizen shelter, the association delivered donations and protective clothing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the association has expanded its scope of donations to include the Daegu Coal Briquette Bank, the Daegu Happiness Promotion Agency, the Volunteer Capacity Development Center (Daegu Jjokbang Counseling Center), and the Gyeongsangbuk-do Wildfire Relief Fund.

The Daegyeong ICT Industry Association is the largest regional economic organization comprised of approximately 350 local IT and CT companies.
