‘자치분권 기대해’챌린지는 지난해 ‘지방자치법 전부개정안’이 국회를 통과하면서 주민 중심 자치분권 실현에 대한 소망을 공유하기 위해대통령 소속 자치분권위원회가 시작한 참여형 캠페인이다.

이날 이기동 의장은 “시민이 주인이 되는 자치분권 경산시의회가 앞장서겠습니다”라는 구호와 함께 캠페인에 동참하고,“지방분권 2.0 시대를 열게 되어 매우 뜻깊게 생각한다. 앞으로 경산시가 자치분권 선도도시로 발돋움할 수 있도록 더욱 힘쓰겠다.”고 말했다.

한편 경주시의회 서호대 의장의 추천으로 참여하게 된 이기동 의장은 다음 참여자로 이용만 경산교육지원청교육장, 김점두 경산상공회의소회장,김상호 대구대학교총장, 변창훈 대구한의대학교총장을 지명했다.
