경산시의회에 따르면 이번 조례안은 기존의 규격화된 일률적인 놀이터 조성이 아닌 어린이, 주민,전문가 등의 참여를 통한 주민참여형 어린이놀이터를 만들어 어린이들이 자유롭게 놀 수 있는 놀이 공간을 조성하기 위해 제정됐다.

특히 주민참여형 어린이놀이터 조성을 위해 어린이, 지역주민, 전문가, 민간단체와 협력할 수 있도록 했으며, 필요한 경우 관련 기관, 법인, 단체 등에 위탁할 수 있도록 했다.

또한, 효율적인 추진을 위해 놀이터 설계방향, 프로그램 개발 및 제안 등을 위해 10인 이내의 어린이놀이터 자문단을 운영하도록 한 것을 골자로 했다.

양재영 의원은 “본 조례 제정을 통해 지역주민과 어린이들의 실정에 맞는 놀이터가 조성되어 미래의 성장 주역인 어린이들이 안전하게 꿈과상상력을 키울 수 있는 유익한 공간이 만들어지길 기대한다”고 말했다.
