대규모 아웃렛이 유치되면 지역 명칭의 브랜드화로 인한 ‘경산시’ 홍보 효과, 타 지역 원정 쇼핑으로 인한 지역자본 역외 유출 방지, 관광 인프라 조성으로 연간 5백만명의 관광객 유입 , 연관산업의 고용창출 및 지역상권 발전 등 경북의 고른 성장을 견인하게 될 것으로 기대된다.
박순득 의장은 “대규모 아웃렛 유치는 경북의 새로운 경제권 형성을 위한 확실한 미래 성장 동력으로 16만 2,892명의 시민들이 보여준 강력한 민의에 보답하기 위해 적극 노력하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
