국민의힘 김승수 의원(대구 북구을)은 제3회 자치분권대상을 수상했다고 7일 밝혔다.
대한민국지방신문협의회 한국프레스센터에서 열린 대신협 정기총회 및 자치분권대상 시상식에서 올해 제3회 자치분권대상 수상자로 김승수 의원을 선정했다.
대신협은 지난 1월 20일 제5차 대신협 사장단 정기회의에서 여러 후보들의 공적자료들을 심사한 결과, 국민의힘 문체위 간사를 맡고 있는 김승수 의원을 선정했다.
김승수 의원은 공직 당시 행정자치부 지방분권지원단 지방이양팀장으로 지방이양사무를 적극 발굴하여 이양했고, 자치분권위 기획단장 재임시에는 지방자치법 전부개정안, 자치경찰법 마련에 핵심적인 역할을 했으며, 지방소비세 인상에 따른 지방재정 확충방안 마련에 앞장섰다는 평가를 받고 있다.
또 제21대 국회 문체위에서 전국의 골고른 문화균형발전을 위한 법 발의와 정부정책 주문 등 자치분권을 위한 현실적 대책마련에 앞장섰다는 공로를 인정하여 선정됐다는 후문이다.
이날 수상을 받은 김승수 의원은 “자치분권에 남다른 애정을 가진 제게 과분한 상을 주심에 감사드린다”며 “자치분권은 반드시 추진해야할 우리의 역사적 사명이다. 윤석열 정부가 ‘이제는 지방시대’라는 모토로 국정계획을 수립하고 있는 만큼, 저도 보다 실질적인 자치분권 실현을 위해 더욱 정진하겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
