한국한의약진흥원은 23일 경산 본원 대강당에서 정창현 신임원장 취임식을 열고 3년간의 공식적인 임기를 시작했다고 밝혔다.

정창현 신임원장은 취임사를 통해“청렴하고 올바른 업무 환경을 만들고, 국민과 국가가 필요로 하는 실용적인 한의약 산업화를 이루어 나가겠다”면서“한의약의 우수성을 널리 알리고 글로벌 의약시장을 선도하는 K-의약 산업을 만들어 나갈 것”이라고 포부를 밝혔다.

정 원장은 이와 함께“정부가 추진하는‘국민의 나라 정의로운 대한민국’을 만들기 위해 고부가가치 한의약 산업 육성과 건강보험 보장성 강화 등 국정과제를 성실하게 수행할 것”이라면서“올해부터 시행되는 제4차 한의약 육성발전 종합계획도 충실하게 이행할 계획”이라고 말했다.

정창현 원장은 또한“기존 사업을 일관성 있게 추진하는 동시에, 한의약 기반 DB 플랫폼 구축, 산업화를 위한 one-stop 지원 시스템 구축, 스마트 팜 등 4차 산업과의 연계성 강화, 한반도 전통의약 발전을 위한 남북 협력 토대 마련 등의 신규 사업을 적극 발굴해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 정 원장은 경희대 한의과대학을 1992년 졸업하고, 1997년 같은 대학원 박사학위를 받았으며 2002년부터 한의과대학 교수로 재직했다. 경희대 한의과대학 부학장, 한의학고전연구소장, 대한한의학원전학회 수석부회장, 경희대 교수의회 사무총장, 미국 UNC Carolina Asia Center 방문교수, 중국내경학회 임원 등을 역임했다.

학술적으로는 양생실천방면과 전염병 관련 전문가로, 2002년 국내 한의과대학 최초로 정규과정에 온병학을 강의했다. 신종플루 유행 당시 한의감염병학회 창립을 주도했으며 여러 국제심포지엄을 개최했다.

Meanwhile, Director Chung graduated from Kyung Hee University's Oriental Medicine College in 1992, received a Ph.D. from the same graduate school in 1997, and served as a professor at the College of Oriental Medicine since 2002. He served as Vice President of the College of Oriental Medicine, Kyung Hee University, Director of Traditional Oriental Medicine Research, Senior Vice Chairman of the Korean Oriental Medical Nuclear Society, Secretary General of the Assembly of Professor Kyung Hee University, visiting professor at UNC Carolina Asia Center in the United States, and executive director of the Chinese Society of Internal Medicine.

Academicly, he is an expert on curing practice and infectious diseases. In 2002, he lectured on medical education, the first Korean medical school to attend a regular course. During the H1N1 epidemic, he led the founding of the Korean Medical Infectious Disease Society and held several international symposiums.
