이번 교육은 지자체, 한의 의료기관, 지역 한의사회의 요청에 따라 기획됐다. 주요 내용은 ▲외국인환자 유치기관 등록 절차 ▲실시간 예약 시스템 구축 방법 ▲홍보 영상 기획 노하우 ▲SNS 운영 전략 및 DM 응대법 ▲외국인환자 진료 사례 및 주의사항 등 실무에 바로 적용할 수 있는 정보로 구성됐다. 아울러 외국인환자 유치 패러다임 변화와 이에 따른 대응 전략도 공유할 예정이다.

교육은 오는 8월 24일 오후 1시부터 6시까지 한국한의약진흥원 서울분원 세미나실에서 진행되며, 온라인으로도 참여할 수 있다. 참가를 원하는 사람은 소속, 이름, 참석 방법(온·오프라인)을 기재해 8월 20일까지 이메일(youni1233@nikom.or.kr)로 신청하면 된다.

이영민 세계화센터장은 “최근 전 세계적으로 화제가 된 ‘케이팝 데몬 헌터스’에 한의사가 등장하고, 외국인의 한의원 체험 유튜브 영상 조회 수가 급증하는 등 케이팝·케이푸드에 이어 한의약에 대한 관심이 커지고 있다”며 “이번 교육이 외국인 환자들이 한국에서 한의약을 쉽고 편리하게 접할 수 있는 환경 조성에 도움이 되길 바라며, 한의 의료기관의 적극적인 참여를 기대한다”고 말했다.

The National Institute of Oriental Medicine (NIOM) Holds Capacity Building Training for International Patient Care

Building on its record-breaking achievement in attracting international patients in the Korean Medicine field in 2024, the NIOM (President ○○○) will offer capacity building training for practicing physicians and prospective practitioners interested in treating international patients.

This training was designed in response to requests from local governments, Korean Medicine medical institutions, and local Korean Medicine Associations. Key topics include: registration procedures for institutions attracting international patients; how to build a real-time reservation system; promotional video planning know-how; social media strategy and direct message response methods; and examples and precautions for treating international patients. Participants will also share information that can be applied directly to their practice. The training will also cover the changing paradigm of attracting international patients and corresponding strategies.

The training will be held on August 24th from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the seminar room of the NIOM Seoul Branch. Participants can also participate online. Those interested in participating should submit their application by August 20th, including their affiliation, name, and method of participation (online or offline), to youni1233@nikom.or.kr.

Lee Young-min, Director of the Center for Globalization, stated, "With the recent global phenomenon of 'K-pop Demon Hunters,' featuring a Korean medicine doctor, and the surge in views of YouTube videos of foreigners experiencing Korean medicine clinics, interest in Korean medicine is growing, following K-pop and K-food." He added, "I hope this training will contribute to creating an environment where foreign patients can easily and conveniently access Korean medicine in Korea, and I look forward to the active participation of Korean medicine medical institutions."
