최재훈 캠프 총괄선거대책위원장인 곽두섭 전 유가농협 조합장은 “최재훈 후보라면 누구보다 변화하는 달성군을 잘 이끌어갈 사람”이라고 강조했다.

그는 “누구나 살고 싶은 명품도시 조성을 위해 선진도시형 주거환경을 구축하고, 도시계획 변경을 통한 지역개발 민간투자 활성화 등에 박차를 가할 것”이라며 “특히 테크노폴리스에 종합병원 유치·설립을 추진하고, 달성군이 첨단생태문화예술복합도시로 탈바꿈할 수 있도록 문화예술과 자연환경을 활용한 관광벨트를 구축해 500만 관광객을 유치하겠다”는 계획도 밝혔다.

최 예비후보는 이날 자신이 젊고 깨끗한 후보라는 점을 내세우며, “이번 지방선거에서 군수로 당선된다면 한결같이 지역발전을 위해 봉사한다는 확고한 신념을 갖고 달성군의 더 나은 미래, 새로운 내일을 만들어 갈 것”이라고 강조했다. 

최 예비후보는 1981년 달성에서 태어나 대구 대건고와 서울대를 졸업하고, 영국 요크대에서 사회정책 석사 학위를 받았다. 대구시의원, 추경호 국회의원 보좌관, 윤석열 대선후보 달성군 선거대책위원회 총괄본부장 등을 지냈으며 국민의힘 대구시당 부위원장을 맡고 있다.
