으뜸병원은 어깨, 무릎, 스포츠재활 중점 병원으로, 스포츠 꿈나무에게 장학금을 지원하는 등 지역사회 내에서도 나눔 실천에 앞장서고 있다. 이성만 으뜸병원장은 굿네이버스에 누적 1천만 원 이상 기부한 회원들의 모임인 ‘더네이버스클럽’에 등재된 바 있다.

이성만 으뜸병원장은“ 세상은 혼자 살아 갈 수 없고, 함께 사는 세상에서 모두가 보다 행복하게 살아가기를 바라는 마음에 나눔에 동참하게 되었다 ”며 “보다 많은 병원들이 동참하여 세상을 위한 좋은 변화를 만들어가면 좋겠다”고 밝혔다.

류현희 굿네이버스 대구경북본부장은 “코로나19 확산에도 의료진 분들이 최전방에서 힘써주신 덕분에 현재 일상생활 회복이 가능하게 되었다”며, “그러나 여전히 해외에서는 코로나19로 많은 병원이 문을 닫고 있어 아이들이 열악한 보건위생 환경과 기초의료서비스 부재로 건강한 삶을 보장받지 못하고 있다”고 전했다.
