2일 칠곡군에 따르면 럭키칠곡 포즈는 왼손 엄지와 검지를 펴 검지가 아래쪽으로 향하게 하는 것으로, 김재욱 칠곡군수가 지난 7월 직접 고안해 반기문 전 유엔사무총장을 비롯해 가수, 개그맨, 배우, 미스코리아, 참전용사, 정치인 등이 럭키칠곡 포즈로 사진을 촬영한 것이 알려지면서 SNS를 중심으로 인기를 얻고 있다.

특히 반기문 총장이“칠곡군은 절체절명의 위기에서 반전의 기틀을 마련해 평화를 선물한 도시”라며 럭키칠곡 포즈로 촬영하면서 주목받기 시작해 국내 정상급 가수와 개그맨 등이 동참하면서 인기를 얻기 시작했다.
