6·25전쟁 당시 최초의 한미 연합작전이자 3대 전승의 하나인 다부동전투는 낙동강 방어선 가운데 가장 전략적인 요충지로 경북 칠곡군 왜관읍과 가산면 다부리 일대에서 국군 제1사단과 북한군 제1, 3, 15, 13사단이 격돌한 국가 존망의 결정적 전투였다.
