【브레이크뉴스 경주】이성현 기자=경주엑스포대공원 문화센터 전시실에서 13일 ‘요괴대행진: 일본에서 온 신비한 요괴들’ 전시회가 14일간 일정으로 열렸다.

경주엑스포에 따르면 이번 전시회는 주부산일본국총영사관(총영사 오스카 츠요시(大塚 剛))과 일본국제교류기금, 경주시가 주최하고 한일문화포럼이 주관으로 개최됐다.

이날 개막식에는 주낙영 경주시장, 오스카 츠요시 주부산일본국총영사, 가토 다케시 일본국제교류기금 서울문화센터장, 윤석준 한일문화포럼 회장과 회원 등 80여명이 참석해 성공적인 전시를 축하했다.

주낙영 경주시장은 “그동안 순조롭지 못했던 한·일관계가 다시 정상화되는 시점에 이런 문화행사를 열게 돼 기쁘다. 일본 문화를 이해하는 소중한 계기가 되고, 경주와 일본 우호도시와의 관계도 더욱 돈독해지기를 바란다.”고 축사를 했다.

오스카 총영사는 인사말을 통해 “일본 요괴는 무서운 것이 아니라 약간 유쾌하고, 재미있고, 유머러스하고 그리고 인간다운 요소도 있다. 일본에서 전해 온 여러 가지 그림을 보면서 일본사람이 가지고 있는 일본요괴에 대한 개념을 호기심 있게 봐 주시면 감사하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 이번 전시는 주부산일본국총영사관이 각종 완구나 영화, 애니매이션 같은 미디어를 통해 널리 알려진 일본의 요괴 문화에 대해 알리기 위해 마련됐으며, 국내에서는 서울과 제주도에 이어 세 번째로 열렸다. 전시는 26일까지 이어진다.

Gyeongju Expo opens on the 13th

On the 13th, at the Gyeongju Expo Grand Park Cultural Center exhibition hall, the ‘Ghost Parade: Mysterious Yokai from Japan’ exhibition was held for 14 days.

This exhibition was hosted by the Consulate General of Japan in Busan (Consul General Tsuyoshi Oscar), the Japan Foundation, and the City of Gyeongju, and organized by the Korea-Japan Cultural Forum.

About 80 people attended the opening ceremony, including Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-yeong, Japanese Consul General in Busan Tsuyoshi Oscar, Japan Foundation Seoul Cultural Center Director Seok-jun Yoon, and members of the Korea-Japan Cultural Forum.

Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-yeong said, “I am happy to hold such a cultural event at a time when Korea-Japan relations, which have been strained, are normalizing again. I hope it will serve as a valuable opportunity to understand Japanese culture and deepen the relationship between Gyeongju and Japan's friendship cities.”

In his greeting, Consul General Oscar said, “Japanese monsters are not scary, but rather pleasant, funny, humorous, and have human elements. I would be grateful if you could look at the Japanese people's concept of Japanese yōkai with curiosity while looking at various paintings handed down from Japan."

Meanwhile, this exhibition was prepared by the Consulate General of Japan in Busan to promote Japanese ghost culture widely known through various media such as toys, movies, and animations, and was held for the third time in Korea after Seoul and Jeju Island. The exhibition continues until the 26th.
