【브레이크뉴스 경북 경주】이성현 기자=경주엑스포대공원이 지난 10일 대구 W병원과 상호발전을 위한 협약을 맺고 다각적인 교류를 추진하기로 했다.

(재)문화엑스포(이사장 이철우 경북도지사)에 따르면 이날 협약식은 엑스포 대회의실에서 경주엑스포대공원 류희림 사무총장과 금철수 경영혁신본부장, W병원 우상현 병원장과 최혜경 행정부원장 등이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.

이날 협약을 통해 두 기관은 보유하고 있는 인적 네트워크와 시설 인프라를 활용한 적극적인 교류협력을 다짐했다. 온․오프라인 홍보와 공동발전 프로그램 실천 등 업무추진에도 뜻을 모았다.

아울러 W병원을 방문한 환자 및 임직원에 대한 경주엑스포대공원 이용요금 할인, 경주엑스포대공원과 의료협력 등 다방면의 교류를 지속적으로 추진키로 했다.

이날 우상현 병원장은 “오늘 협약이 지역 문화관광과 의료산업 발전에 긍정적인 효과를 가져 올 수 있길 기대한다”며 “경주엑스포대공원의 넓고 쾌적한 힐링공간이 훌륭한 만큼 환자들과 직원들이 방문해 힐링의 시간을 가질 수 있도록 협조하겠다”고 말했다.

류희림 경주엑스포대공원 사무총장은 “세계적인 치료성과를 올리고 있는 대구 경북지역 대표 의료기관과 네트워크 파트너십을 형성하게 돼 영광이다”며 “오늘 협약이 양 기관의 상호발전의 새로운 시작점이 되길 희망한다”고 전했다.

W병원은 지난 2008년 개원한 병원이며 대구 경북지역 유일의 보건복지부 정형관절, 수지접합 전문병원으로 동시 지정됐다. 또 지역응급의료기관과 메디시티 의료관광 선도기관 인증을 획득하는 등 연간 30만 명의 환자들이 방문하는 대형 의료기관이다.

우상현 W병원 원장은 국내 최초로 팔 이식 수술을 성공시킨 의사로 지난해 손가락 접합수술관련 미국 성형외과학회 ‘최우수논문’상을 수상하는 등 명의로 정평이 나있다.
