【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자=영남대병원 정형외과 척추센터 이근우 교수, 박욱태 임상교수팀은 세계경추연구학회 아시아-태평양 학술대회에서 우수 연구상인 Best Poster Award를 수상했다고 15일 밝혔다.
이근우 교수팀은 줄기세포 유래 엑소좀을 이용한 재생 및 치료제 개발 연구를 활발히 진행하고 있으며, 이번 연구는 줄기세포 유래 엑소좀을 이용하여 척추골 형성 촉진을 위한 파골 세포 억제 연구를 진행하여 골유합 촉진 및 치료 효과를 확인하는 연구를 발표했다.
연구 결과는 아직 명확한 치료제가 없는 골질환, 골다공증, 및 척추 유합 관련 척추 환자의 치료를 위해 줄기세포 유래 엑소좀을 이용한 새로운 시도로, 향후 새로운 치료제 개발의 가능성을 보였다는 평가를 받았다.
