【브레이크뉴스 】박은정 기자=영남대병원(병원장 신경철)은 비뇨의학과 고영휘 교수가 74차 대한비뇨의학회 학술대회에서 영예의 임상부분 우수논문상을 수상했다고 12일 밝혔다.

대한비뇨의학회는 지난 2004년부터 공모된 논문 중 기초와 임상 부분에 대해 각각 한 편을 선정하여 수상해 왔다.

영남대 병원에 따르면 고영휘 교수는 이번 논문에서 우리나라의 전립선암의 위험도는 미국과 달리 고위험암이 가장 많으며, 특히 2020년대로 올수록 2010년대보다 고위험암이 더 많아졌음을 대구, 경북의 7개 수련병원에서 전립선암으로 확진받은 3,300여명에 대한 조사를 통해 보고했다.

현재 고 교수는 대한비뇨의학회와 대한비뇨기종양학회에서 PSA 검사를 국가암검진 검사 항목 중 하나로 등재되도록 하기 위한 활발한 활동을 이어가고 있다.

 Yeungnam University Hospital (Director Shin Kyung-cheol) announced on the 12th that Professor Koh Young-hwi of the Department of Urology has received the honorable clinical paper award at the 74th conference of the Korean Urological Association.

Since 2004, the Korean Urological Association has selected and awarded one paper for each of the basic and clinical papers among the papers submitted for the competition.

In this paper, Professor Koh Young-hui said that the risk of prostate cancer in Korea is the highest unlike that of the United States, and that in the 2020s, the number of high-risk cancers increased more than in the 2010s. It was reported through a survey of 3,300 people who received it.

Currently, Professor Koh is actively working to have the PSA test listed as one of the national cancer screening tests at the Korean Urological Association and the Korean Urological Oncology Society.
