로봇수술은 고난이도 수술에서 그 장점이 극대화된다. 전립선, 방광, 신장 등 비뇨기 장기가 기존의 수술방법으로는 접근이 어려운 몸 속 깊은 곳에 위치하기 때문이다. 

이러한 이유로, 비뇨의학과 로봇수술이 국내외에서 가장 많이 시행되고 있다. 

현재 계명대 동산병원 비뇨의학과는 전립선, 방광, 요관, 신장 등 비뇨기계 종양에 대해 로봇 수술을 적극적으로 이용하고 있다. 

또 새로 도입된 단일공 로봇(다빈치SP 로봇수술 장비)을 활용해 전립선비대증, 신우성형술, 결석제거술 등 다양한 비뇨기 질환에서도 수술의 합병증을 크게 줄이고 환자들의 빠른 회복을 돕고 있다.

계명대 동산병원 비뇨의학과 로봇수술은 수도권의 몇몇 대형병원을 제외하고는 전국적으로도 가장 많이 시행되는 편이다. 

특히, 비뇨의학과 전문 의료진 대부분이 로봇수술이 가능할 정도로 수준이 매우 높고 노하우도 많다.

하지용 비뇨의학과 주임교수는 “비뇨의학과에서 종양 수술은 난이도가 높은 편이지만 로봇수술을 활용해 세밀한 수술이 가능하다. 이러한 고난이도 로봇수술이 우리 지역에서도 많이 시행되고 숙련도 또한 높음을 알아주셨으면 한다. 앞으로도 꾸준히 의료기술 개발을 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

Robotic surgery in the urology department of Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital is the most frequently performed nationwide, except for some large hospitals in the metropolitan area.

In particular, most of the medical staff specializing in urology are highly skilled enough to perform robotic surgery and have a lot of know-how.

Ha Ji-yong, head professor of urology, said, “Oncology surgery in the urology department has a high level of difficulty, but detailed surgery is possible using robotic surgery. I want you to know that these high-difficulty robotic surgeries are often performed in our region and the level of proficiency is also high. We will continue to strive to develop medical technology in the future,” he said.
