【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자=계명대 동산의료원이 ‘디지털헬스케어 의료기기 실증지원 사업’에 선정돼, 디지털헬스케어 의료기기 임상 실증 및 시범 보급 지원에 나선다.

계명대 동산의료원은 주관기관으로, 이달부터 오는 2024년 12월까지 총 연구비 15억을 지원받는다. 

이번 사업으로 인공지능 혁신의료기기인 뇌경색 분석 및 진단보조 솔루션(JBS-01K, ㈜제이엘케이)과 뇌출혈 관련 솔루션(AVIEW NeuroCAD, ㈜코어라인소프트)을 개발해, 뇌졸중 환자의 빠른 진단과 치료를 위한 인공지능 소프트웨어의 실사용 근거를 마련하게 된다.

뇌졸중은 뇌혈관이 막히는 뇌경색과 뇌혈관이 터지는 뇌출혈로 대표되며 한국인 주요 사망원인 4위에 해당한다. 

고령인구 증가로 뇌졸중 환자 수가 빠르게 늘어 연간 11만 명 이상 발생하고 있으며, 사회경제적 비용은 약 5조원에 달하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 

이러한 뇌졸중은 빠른 진단과 치료를 받는다면 사망률과 치료 후 장기적인 신경학적 예후를 낮출 수 있다.

 계명대 동산의료원은 이번 사업을 통해, 뇌경색 및 뇌출혈 관련 인공지능 소프트웨어를 응급실 상황에서 조기 진단과 빠른 치료를 위한 프로세스를 개선시킬 수 있을 지에 대해 실증할 계획이다. 

책임연구자인 신경과 홍정호 교수는 “이번 사업 참여로 인해 우리 의료원이 환자 중심의 최첨단 스마트병원으로서의 중추적인 역할을 함과 동시에, 최근 각광받고 있는 다양한 의료기기 산업의 테스트베드 역할을 수행하게 되어 기쁘다”고 밝혔다.

Through this project, we developed artificial intelligence innovative medical devices such as brain infarction analysis and diagnosis assistance solution (JBS-01K, JLK) and cerebral hemorrhage-related solutions (AVIEW NeuroCAD, Coreline Soft), and artificial intelligence for rapid diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients. The basis for practical use of intelligent software will be prepared.

Stroke is represented by cerebral infarction in which blood vessels in the brain are blocked and cerebral hemorrhage in which blood vessels in the brain burst, and is the fourth leading cause of death in Koreans.

The number of stroke patients is rapidly increasing due to the increase in the elderly population, resulting in more than 110,000 people a year, and the socio-economic cost is known to reach about KRW 5 trillion.

If these strokes are diagnosed and treated early, mortality and long-term neurological prognosis after treatment can be lowered.

 Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center plans to demonstrate whether AI software related to cerebral infarction and cerebral hemorrhage can improve the process for early diagnosis and rapid treatment in emergency room situations through this project.

Professor Hong Jeong-ho of Neurology, the lead researcher, said, “I am delighted that our medical center will play a pivotal role as a patient-centered, state-of-the-art smart hospital, as well as serve as a test bed for various medical device industries that are in the spotlight.” said.
