지난 20일 오전 11시  계명대 성서캠퍼스 아담스채플에서는 정순모 학교법인 계명대학교 명예이사장, 김남석 이사장, 이재하 총동창회장과 동문 국회의원인 홍석준, 최연숙 의원을 비롯해 이만규 대구시의회 의장, 이태훈 달서구청장, 이건우 DGIST 총장, 김정길 대구문화예술진흥원장, 이상길 대구상공회의소 부회장 등 지역의 인사들과  누리디노프 아크말 우즈베키스탄 국립예술학술원 회장이 참석한 가운데 계명대 창립 125주년 기념식이 개최됐다.

이날 행사에서는 업적이 우수한 교수와 직원 94명에게 계명금장, 비사교수, 공로상, 업적우수상, 모범상, 계명대학교 출판문화상, 외국인교수 우수교육상, 학생지도 우수교원상 등이 수여됐다.

창립 기념식 이후에는 대명캠퍼스 백학관에서 계명역사관 개관식이 열렸다. 역사관은 1954년 대명동에 계명대의 터를 마련하던 당시 사진자료와 70여 년의 계명대학교 교사 자료이 전시되었다.

신일희 총장은 “고등교육과 의료봉사의 황무지와 다름없었던 달구벌에서 힘겹게 태동한 계명이 지난 125년간 지역과 함께 성장했다”며 “앞으로도 계속해서 지역이 당면한 여러 문제뿐만 아니고, 국외에서도 계명의 가치를 넓혀 나가는 교육 및 의료활동의 과제를 해결해나가도록 하겠다”고 말했다.

At the event, 94 professors and employees with excellent achievements were awarded the Keimyung Gold Medal, Visa Professor Award, Achievement Award, Excellence Award, Exemplary Award, Keimyung University Publishing Culture Award, Foreign Professor Outstanding Education Award, and Outstanding Student Guidance Teacher Award.

After the founding ceremony, the opening ceremony of Keimyung History Museum was held at Baekhak Hall on Daemyung Campus. The history museum displays photographs from the time when Keimyung University was being built in Daemyung-dong in 1954 and Keimyung University teacher materials from over 70 years ago.

President Shin Il-hee said, “Keimyung, which was born with great difficulty in Dalgubeol, which was a wasteland for higher education and medical services, has grown along with the region for the past 125 years.” He added, “We will continue to expand the value of Keimyung not only to address various issues facing the region, but also abroad.” “We will work to solve the challenges of education and medical activities,” he said.
