혈액투석 적정성 평가는 혈액투석을 실시하는 954곳의 의료기관을 대상으로 인력, 시설, 장비와 같은 구조적인 측면과 혈액투석 적절도, 혈관관리, 빈혈관리 등 진료의 과정 및 결과 측면을 평가한다.

영남대병원은 이번 평가에서 혈액투석 적정도 검사 실시주기 충족률, 동정맥류 협착층 모니터링 충족률, 정기검사 실시주기 충족률, 혈액투석 적절도 충족률, 칼륨과 인 충족률에서 만점을 받는 등 전 부문에서 높은 점수를 받으며 7회 연속으로 1등급을 받았다.

신경철 병원장은 “혈액투석 환자의 주된 원인질환은 당뇨병 및 고혈압으로써 뇌졸중, 심질환, 감염 등으로 인한 사망률이 높다”며, “우리 병원은 혈액투석 환자들의 치료 효율을 높이기 위해 최신 장비와 쾌적한 투석환경 등을 제공하여 치료 받을 수 있도록 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
