‘iM뱅크 숲’은 지난 16일 국립세종수목원에 전달된 기부금을 바탕으로 수목원 본원 옆 900㎡(약 270평) 규모 부지에 마련된다. 해당 공간은 다양한 식물자원 보전과 생태환경 개선을 위한 장소로 운영될 예정이다.

이번 사업은 ESG 경영 실천을 위한 iM뱅크의 의지를 담아 추진됐다. 재원은 강정훈 은행장의 제15대 은행장 취임행사를 생략해 절감한 비용과 취임사 영상 댓글 수를 기부금으로 환산한 금액, 은행장을 비롯한 전 임직원 및 iM뱅크 고객들의 자발적 기부로 조성됐다.

특히 일회성 기부에 그치지 않고 지역사회 구성원이 함께 참여하는 ESG 실천 모델로 추진된 점이 눈길을 끈다. iM뱅크는 자체 앱 내 기부 플랫폼 ‘체리(CHERRY)’를 활용해 디지털 금융과 나눔을 결합한 새로운 형태의 기부 문화 확산에도 나섰다.
