의성군(군수 김주수)에 따르면 국가문화유산 DB사업은 소장유물 DB구축과 대국민공개서비스 제공을 위한 지원 사업으로, 대상이 되는 전국 공립·사립·대학박물관 및 미술관 약 770관 중 36개관을 선정했다.

이번 선정으로 조문국박물관은 올해 상반기 내에 인수 예정된 국가귀속유물과 미등록 소장유물 3612점에 대한 DB구축 사업을 추진하게 된다.

또한, 이번 사업을 통해 체계적이고 효율적인 유물 관리가 가능하게 되며, 조문국박물관은 구축된 DB를 활용하여 학술자료정보를 쉽게 활용할 수 있도록 민간에 개방할 계획이다.

김주수 의성군수는“의성군에서 발굴된 유물과 기증받은 유물들에 대한 DB를 구축하여 유물 정보 접근성을 높이고, 이를 활용한 전시 ·교육프로그램과 그 밖의 다양한 프로그램도 개발하겠다”고 밝혔다.
