【브레이크뉴스 영천】이성현 기자=영천시(시장 최기문)는 16일 경상북도 농업기술원, 포도수출농업기술지원단과 영천 와인산업 발전 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이날 협약식은 최기문 영천시장, 신용습 경상북도 농업기술원장, 최철 포도수출농업기술지원단장 및 3개 기관단체의 관계자 20여 명이 참석한 가운데 영천 와인산업 발전을 위해 상호 협력하기로 했다.

특히 고부가가치 와인산업 발전을 위한 상호 협력, 고품질 포도 생산, 와인 양조 기술 공동 개발 및 기술 지원, 연구 관련 시설, 장비, 기술 및 자원의 상호 교류 등 양조기술 분야에 협력히기로 약속했다.

최기문 영천시장은 “지속적으로 추진해오고 있는 지역 특성화 와인산업이 안정적으로 도약하기 위한 지원을 아끼지 않을 것”이라고 밝히고, MOU 기관에 품질 향상을 위한 사업과 R&D 분야 상호 협력을 기대한다고 말했다.

한편 신용습 경북농업기술원장은 과수 고부가가치 향상을 위한 영천 와인산업 활성화에 연구개발 및 기술보급 사업 지원을, 최철 포도수출농업기술지원단장은 문제해결 중심의 양조 전문가 현장 컨설팅 지원 약속했다.

국내 최대 포도 주산지인 영천시는 과수 고부가가치 창출을 위한 와인산업을 지속적으로 육성한 결과 국제 와인품평회 베를린와인트로피에서 매년 수상자를 내고 있어 품질을 인정받고 있다.

특히 와인학교 및 와인투어를 운영하는 한편 영천와인 페스타를 개최하며 농촌자원의 관광·문화산업 활성화 기반 구축에 노력하고 있다.

Yeongcheon City signs a three-party business agreement for the development of the wine industry

The main contents of the agreement are cooperation in the field of brewing technology, such as mutual cooperation for the development of the high value-added wine industry, production of high-quality grapes, joint development and technical support for wine-making technology, and mutual exchange of research-related facilities, equipment, technology and resources.

Choi Ki-moon, Mayor of Yeongcheon, said, “We will spare no effort to support the stable growth of the regionally specialized wine industry, which has been continuously promoted.”

Meanwhile, Shin Yong-sup, head of the Gyeongbuk Agricultural Research and Development Institute, promised to support R&D and technology dissemination projects to revitalize the Yeongcheon wine industry to improve the high added value of fruit trees, and Cheol Choi, head of the Grape Export Agricultural Technology Support Group, promised to provide on-site consulting support for brewing experts focusing on problem solving.

As a result of continuous cultivation of the wine industry to create high added value for fruit trees, Yeongcheon, the largest grape producing region in Korea, has been recognized for its quality by giving out awards every year at the Berlin Wine Trophy, an international wine fair.

In particular, while operating a wine school and wine tour, Yeongcheon Wine Festa is being held to establish a foundation for revitalizing the tourism and cultural industry in rural resources.
