9일 대구교통공사에 따르면 이번에 새롭게 선보이는 공사의 공식 캐릭터 이름은 '타구와 바쿠'다.

캐릭터는 대구시민의 안전한‘발’로서 고객을 섬기고 아끼는 공사의 마음을 충직한 강아지와 바퀴를 모티브로 개발됐다.

타구는‘타다’와 ‘대구’를 결합했고, 바쿠는‘바퀴’의 사투리에서 아이디어를 얻어 이름 지었다.

캐릭터는 공사 홈페이지에 기본 디자인과 응용 디자인 20종이 공개돼 있으며, 시민 누구나 자유롭게 다운로드해 사용할 수 있다.

또 캐릭터 공개를 기념해 오는 10일부터 18일까지 SNS 이벤트를 실시하며, 응모자 중 추첨을 통해 50명에게 커피쿠폰을 지급할 계획이다.
