【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=한국사학진흥재단(이사장 홍덕률, 이하 ‘KASFO’)이 폐교대학 기록문서 관리시설(이하 ‘아카이브’(가칭))를 신축해 기록물에 대한 이관을 시작했다.

25일 KASFO는 기존 청사 옆 부지에 폐교대학 기록문서 관리시설(이하 ‘아카이브’(가칭))을 신축해 경기도 이천에 소재한 민간 임차시설(물류센터)에서 관리‧보관하고 있던 폐교대학 비전자 기록물을 이관한다고 밝혔다.

아카이브에 이관되는 기록물은 폐교대학 17개교의 기록물 7,396박스로 3개월에 걸쳐 이송될 계획이다.

해당 기록물들은 문서상태를 점검한 후 「공공기록물 관리에 관한 법률」에 따른 보존기간을 준수하여 관리‧보관될 예정이다.

KASFO는 아카이브가 새로 건립됨에 따라 폐교대학의 기록물이 체계적이고 전문적으로 관리할 수 있게 되었다고 밝히며 이를 통해 고등교육 및 폐교대학 관련 정책연구에 대한 기록물 활용이 확대될 것이라는 기대를 전했다.

이와 함께 폐교대학 증명서 발급 서비스에 있어서도 원본대조 및 정보변경 등의 민원 업무에 신속한 대응을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

아울러 지난해부터 5년간 추진되는 비전자 기록물의 전자화(DB)도 동시에 진행되어 ‘폐교대학 기록물 전담기관’으로서의 역할을 더욱 활발하게 할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

KASFO 홍덕률 이사장은 “기록물 이송 작업을 시작으로 폐교대학 종합관리 전담기관으로서 전문적인 기록물 관리 체계를 만들어 나가겠다”면서 “기록물은 폐교대학 구성원이 필요로 하는 증명서 발급 자료로 활용할 뿐만 아니라, 대학이 직면한 고등교육의 위기와 문제를 해결해 나가는 자료로 폭넓게 활용하겠다.”고 말했다.
