【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경상북도문화관광공사(김남일 사장, 이하 공사)는 대만 청소년 축구단 22명(선수 20명, 감독 2명)을 경상북도로 유치해 경북 문화와 관광 및 스포츠의 매력을 알렸다.

8일 공사에 따르면 대만 청소년 축구단은 지난 7월 5일 오후 경주에 도착하여 화랑FC U15와의 친선경기를 통해 양국 간 스포츠 교류의 시간을 가졌다.

또한 대만 축구단은 첨성대와 황리단길에서 경주의 전통문화와 현대문화를 체험하는 시간을 갖기도 했다.

아울러 대만 청소년 축구단은 이번 방문 기간 내 영덕과 포항을 방문하여 삼사해상공원과 스페이스워크 등 경상북도의 주요 관광지를 탐방하는 시간을 가졌다.

지난 6일에는 DGB대구은행파크에서 포항스틸러스 프로 경기를 관람하며 한국 축구의 열기를 몸소 체험하는 시간을 갖기도 했다.

한편, 공사는 특수목적관광객을 포함한 중화권 관광객 유치를 위하여 지난 5월 타이베이국제관광박람회(TTE)에 참가해 대만 관광시장에 경상북도의 주요 관광자원을 공격적으로 홍보하였다. 앞으로도 공사는 광저우국제여유박람회, 대만 타이베이국제여전(ITF) 등을 참가해 중화권 관광객들에게 경상북도의 매력적인 관광지를 소개할 계획이다.

김남일 사장은 “대만 청소년 축구단의 방문은 경북의 스포츠, 문화, 그리고 관광을 알릴 수 있는 좋은 기회로 앞으로 다양한 특수목적관광객 유치를 통해 경북의 관광과 지역경제 활성화에 기여하겠다.”며“특히, 2025년 APEC 개최를 앞두고 경북을 더욱 국제적인 관광지로 자리매김할 수 있도록 초석을 다지겠다”라고 밝혔다.
