【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교(총장 곽진환) 응급구조과는 지난 8월 5일부터 10일까지 6일간 사랑관 재난안전공유협업센터에서 응급구조과 3학년 재학생 취업역량 강화를 위한 미국심장협회(American Heart Association, AHA) 전문심장소생술(Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, ACLS)자격 과정을 실시했다.

선린대학교에 따르면 이번 ACLS Provider 교육은 미국심장협회 교육과정으로 고품질의 심폐소생술의 중요성, 효과적인 기본소생술과 전문심장소생술 술기의 결합, 효과적인 팀 상호작용 및 의사소통의 중요성 강조, 전문기도유지술, 서맥, 빈맥, 심정지 환자에 대한 처치 등을 시뮬레이션 실습으로 진행됐다.

현진숙 학과장은 "1995년 개설 이후 2,000여명의 졸업생을 배출한 선린대학교 응급구조과는 지역사회의 안전과 응급의료 인프라 구축에 크게 이바지하고 있다. 이번 ACLS 과정을 통해 우리 학생들은 1급 응급구조사로서의 사회적 책임을 더욱 충실히 이행할 것이며, 학생들의 전문성 강화뿐만 아니라, 응급 의료 서비스의 질을 한 단계 끌어올릴 기회로 평가받고 있다”고 밝혔다.

선린대학교 응급구조과는 전국 최초 개설학과로 미국심장협회와 대한심폐소생협회의 교육지침과 가이드라인에 맞춰 시행되는 교육 프로그램인 한국형 심폐소생술(KBLS), 미국 기본심폐소생술(BLS provider), 미국 전문심장소생술(ACLS provider), 한국전문소생술(KALS provider) 교육을 시행하여 재학생들의 취업역량을 강화하고 자격증을 취득하도록 하고 있으며, 응급의료 전문가로서의 역량을 갖춘 인재 양성에 앞장서고 있다.

Seonlin University (President Kwak Jin-hwan) Emergency Medical Services Department conducted the American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification Course for 3rd year Emergency Medical Services Department students from August 5 to 10 for 6 days at the Saranggwan Disaster Safety Sharing Collaboration Center to enhance their employment capabilities.

According to Seonlin University, this ACLS Provider training was conducted as an American Heart Association training course, emphasizing the importance of high-quality CPR, effective combination of basic life support and advanced life support techniques, the importance of effective team interaction and communication, advanced airway maintenance, bradycardia, tachycardia, and treatment of cardiac arrest patients, etc. through simulation practice.

Hyun Jin-sook, the department head, said, "Sunlin University's Department of Emergency Medical Services, which has produced over 2,000 graduates since its establishment in 1995, has contributed greatly to the safety of the local community and the establishment of emergency medical infrastructure. Through this ACLS course, our students will be able to more faithfully fulfill their social responsibilities as first-class emergency medical technicians, and it is evaluated as an opportunity to not only enhance the professionalism of students but also to elevate the quality of emergency medical services."

Sunlin University's Department of Emergency Medical Services is the first department in Korea to be established.
