【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구경북경제자유구역청(DGFEZ)은 11월 10일부터 14일까지 싱가포르와 말레이시아 조호바루 일대에서 한국형 실리콘밸리로 불리는 수성알파시티의 외국인직접투자(FDI) 유치를 위한 IR(Investor Relations) 활동을 펼쳤다고 밝혔다.

이번 IR은 싱가포르 투자기업 ‘iM인베스트먼트아시아’(iM Investment Asia, 대표 최영욱, 이하 iMA)와의 업무협약(MOU) 체결을 비롯해 현지 주요 혁신기술기업 및 벤처캐피털(VC) 대상 투자설명회, 투자유관기관과의 신규 네트워크 구축에 초점을 맞춰 진행됐다.

iMA는 iM금융지주의 싱가포르 자회사로, 아시아 지역 펀드 조성을 통한 기업투자 활동을 전개하고 있다. 향후 글로벌 유망기업 대상 지분투자 및 대출 펀드 조성 등 자본 효율성을 기반으로 한 글로벌 금융사업 확대를 추진 중이다.

DGFEZ와 iMA는 이번 협약을 통해 ▲외국인직접투자(FDI) 유치 활성화 ▲지역기업의 글로벌 진출 지원 등 상호 협력체계를 구축하기로 했다. iMA는 IR 기간 중 현지 VC 및 SW기업을 직접 발굴해 DGFEZ에 소개하는 등 실질적인 투자 네트워크 구축에 기여했다.

또한 DGFEZ는 세계 최대 규모의 핀테크 행사인‘싱가포르 핀테크 페스티벌 2025’를 참관하며 참가 기업들을 대상으로 한 맞춤형 IR 활동도 병행했다. 이 과정에서 싱가포르제조협회(SMF)와 고출력 비접촉식 무선충전 ICT 기술을 보유한 현지 기업 A사 등과 교류하며 한국 시장 진출 가능성에 대해 긍정적인 의견을 교환했다.

김희석 DGFEZ 본부장은 “이번 MOU 체결은 현지 핵심 파트너들과의 협력 기반을 강화한 의미 있는 성과”라며 “향후 한국 진출을 희망하는 해외 기업들에게 수성알파시티의 혁신기술 기반 산업 생태계와 기업 친화적 환경을 소개하고, 입주기업의 글로벌화를 지원하는 새로운 지역경제 활성화 모델을 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.

The Daegu Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (DGFEZ) announced that it conducted investor relations (IR) activities in Singapore and Johor Bahru, Malaysia, from November 10th to 14th to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) for Suseong Alpha City, often referred to as Korea's Silicon Valley.

The IR focused on signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Singaporean investment firm iM Investment Asia (CEO Choi Young-wook, hereinafter referred to as iMA), holding investment briefings for key local innovative technology companies and venture capitalists, and building new networks with investment-related organizations.

iMA, a Singapore subsidiary of iM Financial Group, engages in corporate investment activities through the establishment of funds in the Asian region. Going forward, it plans to expand its global financial business, leveraging capital efficiency through equity investments and loan funds in promising global companies.

Through this agreement, DGFEZ and iMA agreed to establish a mutually cooperative system to ▲ promote foreign direct investment (FDI) and ▲ support the global expansion of local companies. During the investor relations period, iMA directly identified local VC and software companies and introduced them to DGFEZ, contributing to the establishment of a practical investment network.

Furthermore, DGFEZ participated in the "Singapore Fintech Festival 2025," the world's largest fintech event, and conducted customized investor relations activities for participating companies. During this period, DGFEZ exchanged positive opinions with companies such as the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) and Company A, a local company possessing high-power, contactless wireless charging ICT technology, regarding the potential for entry into the Korean market.

DGFEZ Headquarters Director Kim Hee-seok stated, "This MOU is a meaningful achievement that strengthens the foundation for cooperation with key local partners. We will introduce Suseong Alpha City's innovative technology-based industrial ecosystem and business-friendly environment to overseas companies seeking to expand into Korea, and create a new model for revitalizing the local economy by supporting the globalization of resident companies."
