한편 안 전 부시장은 행사 참석 여부에 대해 “해당 행사장에 간 사실은 전혀 없다”고 부인했다. 다만 “당일 저녁 만찬 자리에 울산부시장 자격으로 참석한 것은 사실”이라고 밝혔다.

이에 대해 울산 지역 국민의힘 관계자는 “행사장 뒤편이긴 하지만 안 전 부시장이 현장에 있었던 것은 분명하다”고 주장하고 있어, 사실관계를 둘러싼 논란은 당분간 이어질 것으로 보인다.
