상금과 상품은 더 강화됐다. 지난 해 2배 이상 상금을 올리고, 상품과 기념품 또한 각종 마라톤 지원 물품과 지역 특산품을 준비했다. 의성군은 지역 특산물을 적극적으로 발굴해 마라톤대회와 각종 축제를 통해 강력하게 홍보해 나간다는 방침이다. 신청접수는 이번 주부터 시작하고 접수는 의성마늘마라톤 홈페이지(https://uiseongrun.kr) 를 통해 하면 된다.

한편, 이 기간 의성 산수유마을에서는 산수유 축제가 열린다. 의성군 관계자는 “오전엔 마라톤으로 잡념을 없앤 뒤, 오후 산수유 마을에서 만개한 봄꽃과 함께 봄의 시작을 느껴 보시기를 바란다”고 말했다.
