【브레이크뉴스 경주】이성현 기자=한국수력원자력(사장 황주호, 이하 한수원)은 20일 월성원자력본부 유휴부지에 3.4MW 규모의 태양광발전소 건설을 완료하고 준공식을 가졌다.
한수원에 따르면 태양광발전소는 월성원자력본부 통합자재 창고 지붕과 월성3발전소 주차장 등 1만5천여 제곱미터 부지에 총사업비 약 48억원을 투입 지난해 3월 착공해 12월 준공됐다.
발전소에서는 경주시 약 1,800가구에 전력을 공급할 수 있는 수준인 연간 4,100MWh의 전력을 생산하게 된다.
한수원은 태양광 6.1GW, 풍력 4.2GW, 기타사업(융복합사업 등) 1.8GW을 포함해 2034년까지 12.1GW의 용량에 달하는 신재생에너지 사업을 진행할 계획이다.
황주호 한수원 사장은 “주력사업인 원자력발전의 안정적인 운영과 함께 신재생에너지 사업 확대에도 힘써 ‘친환경 에너지로 삶을 풍요롭게’한다는 회사 미션 실천을 위해 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (President Hwang Joo-ho, hereinafter referred to as KHNP) completed the construction of a 3.4MW solar power plant on the idle site of the Wolseong Nuclear Power Headquarters on the 20th and held a completion ceremony.
