【브레이크뉴스 경주】이성현 기자=한국수력원자력㈜ 월성원자력본부(본부장 정원호)는 지난 1일 경주시 감포읍 수산업협동조합 대강당에서 개최된 ‘소형어선 어업인 구명조끼 전달식’에 참석하여 총 3천만원 상당의 구명조끼를 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이번 지원은 월성본부가 추진하는 ‘한수원지원사업’의 일환으로 안전한 어업 환경을 조성하기 위한 선제적 조치다. 특히 오는 10월 19일부터 소형어선 구명조끼 착용이 의무화됨에 따라 지역 어민들이 제도 변화에 차질 없이 대응할 수 있도록 발 빠른 지원이 이루어졌다.

전달식에는 정원호 본부장을 비롯해 이영웅 경주시 수협조합장, 구영수 포항 해양경찰서 감포파출소장 등 많은 지역기관·단체 관계자들이 참석했다. 이영웅 수협조합장은 “전국적으로 어업 사고는 끊이지 않고 있다. 안전한 어로활동을 위한 이번 구명조끼 지원이 우리 어민들의 생명을 지키는 든든한 장치가 되길 바란다.”며 감사의 인사를 전했다.

정원호 본부장은 “지역의 수익 창출형 지원사업도 중요하지만, 주민의 생명을 지키는 사업이 최우선”이라며 “앞으로도 생명·안전과 직결되는 사업에는 아낌없이 지원하겠다.”고 강조했다.

월성본부는 지역의 안전 문화 확산을 위한 다양한 지원사업을 지속적으로 추진할 예정이다.

 Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Headquarters Provides Life Jackets to Small Fishing Boat Fishermen

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP) Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Headquarters (Director Won-ho Jeong) announced that it had donated a total of 30 million won worth of life jackets at the "Life Jacket Delivery Ceremony for Small Fishing Boat Fishermen" held at the Gampo-eup Fisheries Cooperative Auditorium in Gyeongju City on the 1st.

This donation is part of the "KHNP Support Project" promoted by Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Headquarters and is a preemptive measure to create a safe fishing environment. With the mandatory use of life jackets on small fishing boats effective October 19th, this swift support was provided to ensure local fishermen can seamlessly adapt to the regulatory changes.

The ceremony was attended by Director Won-ho Jeong, along with Lee Young-woong, President of the Gyeongju City Fisheries Cooperative, and Koo Young-soo, Chief of the Gampo Police Station of the Pohang Coast Guard, along with representatives from many local organizations and groups. Lee Young-woong, Chairman of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, expressed his gratitude, saying, "Fishing accidents continue to occur nationwide. I hope this life jacket support program, which promotes safe fishing, will serve as a reliable tool to protect the lives of our fishermen."

Director Jeong Won-ho emphasized, "While revenue-generating support projects are important, protecting the lives of residents is our top priority. We will continue to provide unwavering support to projects directly related to life and safety."

The Wolseong Headquarters plans to continue implementing various support programs to promote a culture of safety in the region.
