월성본부에 따르면 김한성 본부장은 김석기 국회의원실, 경주시청, 경주시의회, 경주경찰서 및 양남면·문무대왕면·감포읍 주요 기관단체들을 대상으로 부임 인사를 진행했다.

이 자리에서 김 본부장은 “앞으로 월성본부는 안전한 원전 운영뿐만 아니라, 지역과의 소통에도 최선을 다하겠다.”면서 “지역 대표 공기업으로서의 사회적 책임을 다하기 위해 지역의 많은 분들을 만나고 다양한 조언을 구하겠다.”고 말했다.

특히 해외 출장 중인 주낙영 경주시장을 대신한 김호진 부시장과의 환담에서는 “소통과 신뢰를 바탕으로 경주시와 월성본부 발전을 위해 노력하겠다.”고 약속했다.

이에 김호진 부시장은 “월성본부와 경주시는 현안을 함께 고민하는 공동체이기 때문에 앞으로 월성본부가 상생발전에 더 큰 역할을 해주시리라 기대한다.”며 부임을 축하했다.

이어 만난 이철우 경주시의회 의장은 “세계적인 에너지 위기 상황 속에서 부임하셨는데, 겨울철 지역의 안정적인 전력수급에 월성원전이 크게 기여해주실 것이라 믿는다.”고 말했다.
